10 Meetups About Toto Asia You Should Attend

The Band Toto Asia

Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas and was doing business in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as an area of growth for Washlet toilets and bidet seats, in contrast to its "base" markets in Japan and China.

Dhaniram Toto was documenting Toto words to ensure that the next generation could read the words. However, many of the words were being replaced by foreign words, such as dui from Bengali for verandah.

Origins

The early history of Toto that began in 1917, was a reflection of Japan's economic expansion. In the beginning of its existence, the company made products to meet the demands of modern and contemporary urban housing. To do this, it employed the country's first tunnel kiln to produce ceramics in continuous flow. It also pioneered automation for production control, which helps to increase efficiency and a more consistent production.

In the late 1980s the company began to expand overseas in order to profit from sales and new markets. It established the Cera Trading Company, importing and marketing other manufacturers' products to complement its own lines of plumbing fittings and sanitary earthenware. This strategy helped increase sales and expand the company's market share in the world.

In the 1990s Toto began to focus on research and development of water-related appliances. It also upgraded its distribution system to better serve its customers and boost profits. The company embraced a just-in time approach to supply chain management and applied the same methodology in its sales strategy. This resulted in a higher level of customer satisfaction.

Toto continued to develop toilet technology. The most recent toilet features a strong, eco-friendly tornado flush. The company also uses recycled water in its manufacturing process and has a green procurement policy. In addition to toilets Toto manufactures bathtubs and faucets, as well as hand dryers that are more efficient in energy use than typical models.

The company's first museum opened in 2015 and features exhibits on Toto's most iconic products and their development as well as its group companies (all related to ceramics) and the history of plumbing and products such as bath units and, in a different gallery, Toto products sold around the world. The museum also has a bathroom with a WASHLET and other toilet innovations.

Before beginning the formation of Toto members of the group performed sessions for a variety of musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all played on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also performed on albums by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.

Discography

You might expect a band with a name such as Asia to be a prog rock group, but it is actually a fairly straight forward rock outfit. The group was formed as four-piece, and released two albums that were self-titled in 1979 and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. Although the band have a diverse musical background, their biggest success was in 1982 with Toto IV.

The album was a major blockbuster, however it did not come without its own set of issues. The record companies put the band under pressure to deliver the top single or else they would pull them. Luckily for Toto they delivered with the help of the smash hit single "Africa."

Toto's musical mastery is a result of their previous experience. Before forming the group, members worked as session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their distinctive sound has become the standard for  the '80s, and has influenced many contemporary artists.

The album starts out hard with tracks like Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band's ability to write fantastic AOR tunes that slowly creep into your head. The album also includes some jazzier, slower tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. The album concludes with Great Expectations, a song that mixes folk with distorted AOR and could sound completely wrong, but actually works wonderfully well.

After Toto IV The band's fortunes turned to the downside. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career, and the band was through several drummers. In  토토사이트 모음 , Bobby Kimball was fired from the band in wake of drug charges and the group continued to perform as a trio featuring Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.

Despite the turbulence, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation however, which was not as successful as IV. The group managed to release an album that topped the charts, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. The album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was the first album featuring a new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was an attempt to return to the classic sextet format, and it was a more consistent, more powerful effort with a harder edge. The more edgier sound of Turn Back reflected the development of the group. The drummer Bobby Kimball's increasing virtuosity was reflected by the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. Keyboardist David Paich's work was sharper, more intricate, and less derivative than previously recorded performances.

After touring to promote their album, the band recorded an Amsterdam live concert that was released by Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between. The studio album came out a few months later, and the group embarked on an extensive world tour to promote it. During this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.

In 1998, Paich & Lukather began exploring old tapes and demos to discover songs that hadn't been recorded before. The album was released in 2001 and released as a double album titled Then and Now. It was the band's first album that did not contain the single track "A". The album also included a previously unreleased track titled "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth record, Old Is New was not a commercial success and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis, which affected his singing abilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming was replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.

Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia The original Asia members met in England early in 2006 to discuss the possibility that the band could be reformed. This lineup, with the exception of Howe (who was a member of Yes at the time) was later referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The group also featured a special guest appearance from singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
